What Is EOTAS?
EOTAS — Education Other Than At School — is education provided for children and young people who, for whatever reason, cannot attend a mainstream or special school. Local authorities have a legal duty under Section 19 of the Education Act 1996 to arrange suitable education for these young people.
Player Ready delivers EOTAS provision across East Sussex primarily through our online 1:1 mentoring programme, with the option of attending our nearest venue. We use gaming and technology — Minecraft, Roblox, coding, and digital creativity — as the foundation for personalised education.
Our approach is part-time (up to 15 hours per week for under-16s) and designed to complement other support. We are not a school. We offer something different — and for many young people, that's exactly what works.
