in Manchester

Manchester City Council approved since December 2025. Online EOTAS for learners across Greater Manchester.

Approved by Manchester City Council since December 2025

What Is EOTAS?

EOTAS — Education Other Than At School — is education provided for children and young people who, for whatever reason, cannot attend a mainstream or special school. Local authorities have a legal duty under Section 19 of the Education Act 1996 to arrange suitable education for these young people.

Player Ready delivers EOTAS provision across Manchester primarily through our online 1:1 mentoring programme, with the option of attending our nearest venue. We use gaming and technology — Minecraft, Roblox, coding, and digital creativity — as the foundation for personalised education.

Our approach is part-time (up to 15 hours per week for under-16s) and designed to complement other support. We are not a school. We offer something different — and for many young people, that's exactly what works.

EOTAS Provision in Manchester

Player Ready delivers creative, high-engagement alternative provision for children and young people across Manchester who are not currently in school. Our team provides personalised EOTAS packages supporting learners with complex needs, SEND diagnoses, or long-term absence from education. Manchester City Council approved us in December 2025 as part of our North West expansion covering over 20 councils.

Serving communities from Wythenshawe, Didsbury, Chorlton and Hulme to Gorton and Cheetham Hill, we focus on engagement, flexibility, and emotional safety. Our provision spans primary, secondary, and Post-16, including support for older learners with EHCPs up to age 25+.

Sessions are delivered by trauma-informed, DBS-checked mentors online or through outreach visits by arrangement. Learners are matched with the right mentor and curriculum, with consistent progress tracking, half-termly reports, and safeguarding oversight.
