EOTAS
in Surrey
Online alternative provision available now for Surrey families. Portsmouth venue accessible for in-person sessions.
What Is EOTAS?
EOTAS — Education Other Than At School — is education provided for children and young people who, for whatever reason, cannot attend a mainstream or special school. Local authorities have a legal duty under Section 19 of the Education Act 1996 to arrange suitable education for these young people.
Player Ready delivers EOTAS provision across Surrey primarily through our online 1:1 mentoring programme, with the option of attending our nearest venue. We use gaming and technology — Minecraft, Roblox, coding, and digital creativity — as the foundation for personalised education.
Our approach is part-time (up to 15 hours per week for under-16s) and designed to complement other support. We are not a school. We offer something different — and for many young people, that's exactly what works.
EOTAS Provision in Surrey
Player Ready offers high-quality online alternative provision and EOTAS support to children and young people across Surrey, including Guildford, Woking, Redhill, Epsom, and surrounding areas. Our programmes are designed for learners aged 7 to 25, including those with EHCPs, those on the SEND register, or those experiencing school refusal, exclusions, or anxiety-related non-attendance.
Whether you are a parent, school inclusion team, or local authority professional, we provide responsive, structured 1:1 support that aligns with EHCP outcomes, builds confidence, and restores engagement.
We are already working with families in Wokingham, Bracknell Forest, and West Sussex. Schools in Surrey can commission AP directly for pupils without needing EHCPs. We also support EOTAS referrals for children with EHCPs where school settings are no longer suitable.

We serve families across Surrey — Guildford, Woking, Redhill, Reigate, Epsom, Dorking, Farnham, and Camberley. Online provision is available from anywhere in the county. Our Portsmouth venue offers an in-person option.

We also support electively home educated (EHE) families with a discounted rate for regular weekly mentoring.
