EOTAS
in West Sussex
Player Ready provides EOTAS services to West Sussex through our online programme and Portsmouth venue. West Sussex County Council can commission tailored education packages for students unable to attend mainstream school.
What Is EOTAS?
EOTAS — Education Other Than At School — is education provided for children and young people who, for whatever reason, cannot attend a mainstream or special school. Local authorities have a legal duty under Section 19 of the Education Act 1996 to arrange suitable education for these young people.
Player Ready delivers EOTAS provision across West Sussex primarily through our online 1:1 mentoring programme, with the option of attending our nearest venue. We use gaming and technology — Minecraft, Roblox, coding, and digital creativity — as the foundation for personalised education.
Our approach is part-time (up to 15 hours per week for under-16s) and designed to complement other support. We are not a school. We offer something different — and for many young people, that's exactly what works.
