Player Ready:Level-Up Alternative Provision in Barnsley

Flexible SEND Alternative Provision for Barnsley Learners (Ages 7–25+)

Player Ready delivers creative, digital-focused Alternative Provision for children and young people across Barnsley who are not currently in school. We provide flexible EOTAS (Education Other Than At School) packages designed for learners with SEND, EHCPs, trauma, anxiety, or medical needs.

Our online sessions are delivered by trauma-informed, DBS-checked mentors who specialise in engaging, interest-led activities. Our focus is on helping learners rebuild confidence, routines, and motivation through digital creativity — not traditional tutoring.

Supporting Learners Across Barnsley

We currently support learners across Barnsley, Penistone, Wombwell, Hoyland, Cudworth and surrounding communities. Many of our learners:

  • ✅ Have EHCPs and need EOTAS or Alternative Provision
  • ✅ Struggle with anxiety, sensory differences, or past trauma
  • ✅ Are not in school due to medical, emotional or behavioural needs
  • ✅ Are in transition from PRUs, hospital schools, or waiting for a placement
  • ✅ Are aged 16–25+ and need supported pathways to independence

Commissioning & Local Authority Engagement

We are not currently listed as a pre-approved provider for Barnsley Council but are already working with learners in South Yorkshire and are ready for commissioning by:

  • LA SEND teams and SEN case officers
  • Schools and AP coordinators seeking part-time or specialist provision
  • Parents and carers using personal budgets or direct payments

We supply full approval packs on request, including: Safeguarding, Safer Recruitment, DBS, insurance and risk assessments. We’re happy to attend virtual meetings with LA teams or SENCos to support commissioning.
